Upon Awakening in Lisbon

Updated: Oct 13, 2021

A fountain with what appears to be Poseidon or another male deity pouring water from a pot and into a pool. He is covered partially in ivy and is generally a fine fellow.

I awoke the next day surprisingly refreshed for being in a time zone eight hours ahead of my home. The first thing I did when I went outside with Schpilker was go to the Avenida da Liberdade, the main boulevard in Lisbon.

The street is very wide with two large pedestrian zones on each side which include beautiful mosaic sidewalks, fountains, greenery, and statues. It helps to create an oasis in the midst of traffic and sirens.

The architecture varies greatly, but wrought-iron and tiled facades are probably the most common for apartments.

Avenida da Liberdade is replete with high-end shops like Rolex and MaxMara. The high-end shopping will have to remain high-end window shopping for me right now though I wish that I could dive right in.

Upon wondering down the pedestrian zone, I have already found my favorite location. It is a fountain with what appears to be Poseidon or another male deity pouring water from a pot and into a pool. He is covered partially in ivy and is generally a fine fellow. I could look at him all day (See him above).

I seem to be a woman of few words today ("Deke" probably is shocked), so please just enjoy two more photos from the Avenida da Liberdade not far from the Hotel Lisboa Plaza where we are staying.

Best to you all!
